If you are serious about turning around your life, this is the best time to rethink your whole life. In Bible speak we say it\’s time to repent. It\’s time to renew your mind.

This is how to rethink your life – start here

Rethink your whole life – Think outside the box

Place Your Life Before God – This is how to rethink your life

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

I’m speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me, and especially as I have responsibilities in relation to you. Living then, as every one of you does, in pure grace, it’s important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you. The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.

Romans 12: 1-3 MSG

So, right off the cuff you have some sacrifices to make. To get started you have to be very hard with yourself. You need to understand that only you can do it for you. Nobody is going to steer your life\’s ship but you. So you will need to make some hard choices in the area of renewing your mind.

The first choice? Think about your life with God. How intimate are you with him? Or how distant have you drifted away from him. If you are miles away, it only takes one simple word yet abhorred by most people. It\’s called repentance. But all you need do is very simple. Repent from the depth of your heart and in no time God will engulf you with his love. And when you do that you will receive your peace and freedom to begin to work at rethinking your life.

Understand that you after your repentance you can now clearly begin to look at creating your life of purpose, fulfillment and balance. But this won\’t happen until you discover who you are. Anyway, let me ask you. Who are you? What have you come here to accomplish? Maybe right now you have a great career. But is this what God said you should be doing?

If you are not expressing yourself in the gifts and talents God gave you, there\’s a likelihood that you are living a frustrated life. And this may be a self limiting life. One of the hard choices you gonna have to make is to get on a soul searching journey of self identity. Remember the who are you question I asked earlier? You have to take this bull by its horns.

Many of us like you are not really sure about what we want for our lives. I mean like what do you really think you want for your life? I don\’t blame you, it\’s not always easy to find out. But when you determine to find answers, you will surely find direction. Finding answers is in the process to rethink your life.

To seriously rethink your life is to seriously begin to re-value or re-examine your life critically. Take a look again at part of the Bible verse I quoted above: \”Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out\”.

In other words do not be conformed to the patterns of this world and fit into them without taking a hard look at your true identity. Your identity comes from God. So fix your eyes on him. Your change must happen from the inside and not from the outside. Your real you is defined and shaped by the substance that God has placed inside of you. And once you recognize this aspect the easier for you to get on with job of getting to know you. Rethink what\’s possible. Yes you can.

Remember that word \’repent\’? You must allow yourself to turn around your life from a position of freedom. Freedom from the shackles of your past life. Freedom to make choices including hard ones from a position of trusting God to make things happen with you. You have repented after all, not so?

There are things that have happened before which will make you rethink your life. Things that you definitely do not want to hike along into your new life. Things concerning your lifestyle perhaps. You want them dumped for good!

There\’s so much more but then again you are the one who will understand you better than anyone else. The only good news now is that you have God on your side. Go on then. Dare to dream as you go on your journey to turn around your life. As you embark on your journey to rethink your whole life.

And congratulations by the way for deciding to do this in this new year and new decade. I will cheer you on, but you must give me feedback for me to do this. So let\’s talk. Additionally I will appreciate your feedback in the comments area below.
