Do You Have A Personal Financial Plan

In 2020 create a personal financial plan to jump start your finances. Become a Godly steward of your finances. Live a life God has always planned for you.

Why Create A Personal Financial Plan?

Hey preacher, why do I need to create a personal financial plan? If I am going to have a financial plan it means I must be thinking about riches, right? But doesn’t being rich make you evil? After all the scriptures say money is the root cause of evil. So why do I even need to create a plan? No, I don’t need it!

You got it all mixed up. Riches don\’t bring evil into your life. Neither does poverty take you closer to God. When you read through the Bible , you will notice that most of God\’s people were affluent. Let me just give you one example. Abraham. Apart from being the faith pioneer, God also made him very rich. When he left his home country he didn\’t have much. He depended on faith in God\’s word.

How is it that Abraham was a man of faith and was rich at the same time. Faith is accounted to him yet in his riches he clearly heard God\’s voice for instructions. Today Abraham\’s faith is accounted to his righteousness. So my friend rethink your financial situation. There\’s no evil in money. The evil is in your love of money. Get up and begin to create your financial plan now.

Here is that so often misquoted verse of scripture. What does it actually say? Well here it is.

But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who [are not financially ethical and] crave to get rich [with a compulsive, greedy longing for wealth] fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction [leading to personal misery]. For the love of money [that is, the greedy desire for it and the willingness to gain it unethically] is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves [through and through] with many sorrows.

1 Timothy 6: 8-10 (Amplified)

So quite clearly you had it all wrong. Money is not evil. It’s the love of money which is the root of all evil. See what the referenced scripture is saying? For the love of money, that is, the greedy desire for it and the willingness to gain it unethically is the root of all sorts of evil.

Lust for money brings trouble and nothing but trouble. Going down that path, some lose their footing in the faith completely and live to regret it bitterly ever after.

But for you, this is your portion.

11But you, man of God, avoid all these things. Strive for righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. 12Run your best in the race of faith, and win eternal life for yourself; for it was to this life that God called you when you firmly professed your faith before many witnesses.

1 Timothy 6: 11-12 (Good News)
